LP celebrates 45th anniversary AT NAMM 2009

NAMM 2009 was a very special show for Latin Percussion, as the company celebrated its 45th anniversary. Many new and innovative products were showcased at our booth including the LP Rio Brazilian Drums, LP Prestige Timbales, LP Legends Johnny "Dandy" Rodriguez, Jr. Signature Series Bongos, LP Legends Joe Madera Signature Series Congas, LP Tito De Gracia Timbales and the LP Micro Snare. Our new line of shakers (Wah, Cyclone and Vari-Tone) proved to be very popular at the show and we are proud to announce that they were given the Best of Show Award under the category of Gotta Stock It by NAMM.

The Latin Giants of Jazz (formerly the Tito Puente Orchestra) headlined our 45th Gala Celebration held at NAMM on Saturday, January 17th. The band featured LP artists Jose Madera (Musical Director/timbales), Johnny "Dandy" Rodriguez (bongos), and George Delgado (congas). The event also included performances by several LP artist-led bands including those of Ron Powell, Joey Heredia, and Richie Gajate-Garcia. Other LP artists who performed at the show were Munyungo Jackson, Mike Bennett, Kevin Ricard, Raul Rekow, Karl Perazzo, Armando Peraza, Giovanni Hidalgo, Eddie Montalvo, Chembo Corniel, Bobby Sanabria, John Santos, Tito De Gracia, and Tito Puente, Jr.  The Nadeen Gautier-Gooding Dance Troupe also added to the festivities. The concert was a huge success and LP founder, Martin Cohen exclaimed, “Thank you to all my LP artists for making this 45th Anniversary the most amazing event in my life! My own North Sea Jazz Festival.”

Overall, our concert and booth were both packed with people making rhythm, proving that LP is still the number one choice for percussion! Play the best.
