35th Anniversary & Happy Birthday Song

In January of 1999 Latin Percussion hosted a party to celebrate LP's 35th Anniversary and LP Founder Martin Cohen's 60th Birthday. The event took place in the Golden State Room at the downtown Los Angeles Omni Hotel.

The party included a concert that featured many of LP's greatest West Coast endorsers including: Richie Gajate-Garcia (the emcee for the event), John Santos, Raul Rekow, Karl Perazzo, Ron Powell, Walfredo Reyes, Jr., Giovanni Hidalgo, Michael Spiro, and the group - Avancé.

Three Generations of Santana

This recording showcases three of Santana's percussionists, Armando Peraza, Raul Rekow and Karl Perazzo.

Master percussionist Armando Peraza has played with the likes of Charlie Parker, Cal Tjader and recently with Santana from 1972 to 1990.

For over twenty years, Raul Rekow has added his colorful rhythms to the Santana sound captivating audiences on all five continents.

As young musician, Karl Perazzo's dream was to play with Santana. Amazingly, he achieved his goal and is known the world over for his dynamic playing.
